"Do Not Serve" posters featuring Andelmans have gone up at the Staff Meal food truck, BostInno reports. It's partly due to an argument over whether food trucks are stealing business from restaurants, but goes back to last year's ugly little incident at Grill 23.

The Herald reports that dbar is now offering a Chic-2B-gAy fried-chicken plate. Proceeds from sales of the meal (which includes mashed potatoes and a biscuit) go to Gay and Lesbian Advocates and Defenders.

The Boston Licensing Board yesterday approved a Tasty Burger on L Street, but denied the restaurant's request to add 20 patio seats in the back.

The board, which oversees food-serving licenses in Boston, agreed with the outlet's request to stay open until 11 p.m. most nights and midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. The burger stand, which will replace the old Boat House ice-cream stand, will open at 8 a.m., with plans for breakfast burritos and coffee.

The Boston Licensing Board yesterday gave New Market Pizza and Grill at 850 Mass. Ave. permission to extend its closing time from 1 a.m. to 3 a.m. seven days a week, after its owner and lawyer assured the board there was a tremendous market for late-night food in an area frequented by hospital workers and cops.

A nearby McDonald's is already licensed for 24-hour operations. Victoria's Diner, a few blocks away, is open 24 hours on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, while the Hen House across from that is open until 4 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Michael Conlon, who owns restaurants across Boston, goes before the Boston Licensing Board next week for permission to re-open the Stockyard on Market Street in Brighton.

According to his application, Conlon would keep the Stockyard name. Conlon needs board permission to buy the landmark restaurant's liquor license.

Among Conlon's restaurants: The Paramount and the 21st Amendment on Beacon Hill, another Paramount in South Boston, West on Centre in West Roxbury and the Blarney Stone in Fields Corner.

The board decides tomorrow whether a proposal by Tasty Burger to limit its hours and cut back an outdoor patio at a proposed L Street location are enough to warrant a food serving license or whether some nearby residents are right that the burger outlet would ruin the neighborhood.

Patrick Maguire at jmcurley reports on what he and another manager decided to do when a customer put $20 on his table and told the waitress he'd deduct a dollar for every mistake she made. You may recall this particular restaurant has some conditions on its menu, including:

The customer is NOT always right. However, the respectful customer is always right, and the asshole customer is always wrong.

The Boston Licensing Board last week granted a license to Henry's on South Street to sell beer and wine, after city officials and the local neighborhood group praised the current owner for cleaning the place up and just generally being an asset to the community.

The Boston Licensing Board yesterday ordered a Meridian Street Chinese restaurant to shut for seven days after police once again found it serving food after it was supposed to be closed for the night.

The Boston Licensing Board yesterday ordered a two-day suspension for the Haven, 2 Perkins St., because of an incident last month in which a police sergeant on routine patrol found the place open at 3:10 a.m. with the owner and a friend with a glass of beer inside.

The Boston Licensing Board yesterday approved a food-serving license for a Dunkin' Donuts opposite the Roxbury Crossing T stop, over the opposition of the local neighborhood association, the mayor's office and City Councilor Mike Ross, who argued Tremont Street already had enough places to get coffee.

Joel and Janel Silveira, who will own the franchise, already operate another Dunkin' Donuts on the other side of the hill, in Brigham Circle.

The Herald catches up with Hizzona, who acknowledges he can't legally stop Chick-fil-A from opening up, say, in the space to be vacated by the Purple Shamrock:

"I can't do that. That would be interference to his rights to go there," Menino said, referring to company president Dan Cathy, who drew the mayor's wrath by going public with his views against same-sex marriage.

The mayor added: "I make mistakes all the time. That's a Menino-ism."

A Fort Point resident is seeking liquor and food-serving licenses to open a wine bar in the Channel Center Street building where he lives.

Brian Bresnahan's lawyer, Diane Modica, told the Boston Licensing Board today his proposed Internal Matter, 35 Channel Center Street, would give the area's burgeoning population of residents and workers a place to hang out after work and "have a glass of wine and eat something special." Bresnahan, a photographer, hopes to eventually add unspecified performances to the space, Modica said.
