For 20 minutes today, a meeting of the Boston Licensing Board became a battleground for the very soul of Allston.

In one corner, a Domino's franchise owner who wants to be able to deliver pizza until 3 a.m. every night of the week and the night owls who vow to consume its food. In the other corner, the Allston Civic Association and residents who say they just want to be able to sleep through the night. In the middle: The three members of the licensing board, who vote tomorrow on whether to let the franchise extend its hours to 3 a.m. every day, rather than just on Fridays and Saturdays.

Annabelle reports on some of the "bietary fupplements" available at Kam Man, which replaced the Super 88 in South Bay. And, yes, they include Stud Sex Power, that incandescent blend of "power herbs and root tonic," that is no doubt way better than the stuff more conventional stores carry.

Soon-to-be Tonic and Napper Dandy's.

The owners of two pubs across from the Forest Hills T stop today assured the Boston Licensing Board their openings are imminent.

Owners of both Tonic, going into the old Paul Griffin's bar and Napper Tandy's, going into a long-shuttered barbershop right next door, were before the board to explain why their liquor licenses, granted in early 2011 and late 2010, shouldn't be revoked for non-use.

Managers at certain Boston restaurants and bars make frequent trips to the Boston Licensing Board to answer police citations for liquor-law violations. The Corrib Pub in West Roxbury is not one of them. Today, however, Corrib manager Tony Bligh had to explain why police on a routine inspection found two 20-year-old women with Coors Lites in front of them on Jan. 5.

Bligh offered no excuses - in fact, he read a statement that started, "I am embarrassed to be in front of this board."

The Worcester Telegram picks up the cudgel of a Worcester County resident feeling put out by the way Mike's on Hanover Street doesn't display prices for any of its baked goods. Quotes both a state official who says that's just against the law, and a clearly annoyed Mike's manager, who says he had no idea that was a law and that this is the first time in 60 years anybody's ever complained.

Megan checks out Kika Tapas in Kendall Square and vows to return:

A dish you can't go wrong with is the queso de cabra montanes (baked goat cheese in tomato basil sauce). We slathered the sauce and cheese on fresh bread. It made for a rich, comforting combination (and reminded us of when we were roommates, living about a block away from Dali, where we'd get this small plate often).
