The Dorchester Reporter reports the BPDA board today unanimously approved a plan to turn the Comfort Inn at 900 Morrissey Boulevard into 99 apartments. Under the proposal by Pine Street Inn and The Community Builders, the building would have full-time staff to help residents adjust to their new lives. Read more.

The City Council today agreed to try to redraw lines for the nine district councilors by May 30, the last day city lawyers say the city can use new maps in time to hold preliminary elections on Sept. 12 and final elections on Nov. 7, in a process that, as has become typical, showed a continued fault line between the council majority and its four most conservative members. Live Boston reports a man and woman were shot on Humphreys Street at Humphreys Place shortly after midnight. The victims managed to flee in a car, before stopping in front of the Dublin House, where police and EMTs met them for transportation to local hospitals.

Update: Three arrested on illegal-gun charges.

Gunfire in the area of Brunswick and Normandy streets shortly before 10:30 p.m. sent bullets into apartments on Brunswick and Intervale streets and left two cars with fresh bullet holes. Read more.

The owner of 1420 Dorchester Ave. in Dorchester, until recently home to a 7-Eleven, has filed plans with the BPDA to build a four-story, 41-unit residential building with 33 underground parking spaces and a tree. Read more.

Mayor Wu today announced an expanded "Open Streets" program in which Newbury Street in the Back Bay will be closed to motor vehicles every Sunday between July 2 and Oct. 15 and five streets in other neighborhoods will be shut to cars and trucks for one-day celebrations. Read more.

Live Boston reports an argument between two brothers at 34 Oldfields Rd. in Dorchester around 8 p.m. on Tuesday ended with one stabbing the other in the neck and back.

The victim's injuries were serious enough to have the BPD homicide unit called in just in case. Further details unavailable because state law bars the release of information on domestic attacks.

Transit Police report they are looking for a woman they say got into an argument with somebody and pulled out a knife on a Red Line train lumbering between Ashmont and Fields Corner. Read more.

Boston Police report gang-unit officers who were looking for a teen who might have a gun found him on Devon and Laredo streets in Dorchester around 2:30 p.m. yesterday and decided to have a chat when they spotted him with his "hand in his pocket, and a rectangular bulge near his waistline."
