Destruction inside Clarendon Wine

Inside Clarendon Wine on Boylston Street yesterday.

Looters who smashed into places like Marshalls and Walgreens Sunday night were not particularly discriminating - they also destroyed small mom-and-pop businesses across downtown, the Back Bay and the South End. Read more.

A peaceful vigil and protest march from Nubian Square to the State House organized by young black people turned heavily white and violent as night fell. As the protest dispersed from the Common, crowds began streaming towards Downtown Crossing, throwing bottles and then bricks at police officers and cruisers. Read more.

Suspect in stomping

Transit Police report they are looking for this guy for "a vicious assault" that included kicking his victim on the ground and which left the victim with serious injuries around 9 p.m. on Sunday. Read more.

Boston Police report arresting a guy in an orange T-shirt they say was one of the bits of evidence linking him to a break-in at the Planet Fitness at 17 Winter St. around 8 a.m. on Monday - and to several other break-ins in the area. Read more.

A New York developer that once proposed a 59-story residential tower at the corner of Bromfield and Washington streets downtown is now telling the BPDA it will soon file plans for a less lofty 21-story office building with some retail at the lower elevations. Read more.

Boston Police report arresting women from Malden and East Boston outside the 7-Eleven on Tremont Street downtown early this morning after they allegedly wreaked havoc inside the store and then went outside to stomp a man unfortunate enough to ask them if they might have a smoke. Read more.

The Boston Licensing Board yesterday gave Tasty Burger a license to start slinging burgers and chicken on buns at 48 Winter St., near Tremont, but deferred action on its request for a separate beer and wine license, which would have set it up for a high-end burger war with the beer-selling Mooyah around the corner. Food robot in Downtown Crossing

Roving UHub photographer Ted S. spotted one of the meal-making robots outside Spyce, the robo-take-out place on Washington Street in Downtown Crossing, which is undergoing renovations. Tough to tell whether it's coming or going or has gone on strike for more oil or something.
