How older Roslindale residents refer to Roslindale Square.
A co-worker, a Dot native in her mid 50's grew up calling it Rosi Square (Rawz-ee skway-ah)
I lived in Roslindale at one point - and we called it Rosi Squayah or just the SquayahThese are cracking me up - I live in Texas now!
From someone who has grown up in roslindale I have always know downtown to be downtown crossing/copley area.
In the 50's Roslindale Square was known as the "village"
No, no it was not. It was never called the village as far back as I can recall and I am 77 years old. It was always called The Square.
i work in rozi squa-ah. the newer generations are calling it roslindale village, but to everyone i know its still rozi squa-ah
