Morgie's

Officially, Morgan Memorial, but can be used to refer to Goodwill, the Salvation Army or any other charity that picks things up or runs a thrift store.

Back in the sixties, when we were in junior high school, if we were busting somebody's chops about what they were wearing, ("rankin' them out" as we called it,) we'd say "Where ja buy that?...M. I.T.?""M.I.T." stood for "Morgie's In Town" and, of course, "Morgies" rhymes with "doggies."

Morgan Memorial is the same as Goodwill -- Boston-based MM is the original, but the national version of which it is the local affiliate is Goodwill.
