re: Scoop
This was used in more places than just in Hyde Park. Try Roslindale, Dedham, West Roxbury and Norwood. Anyone who went to the Dedham Movie Theater knew this term. "I scooped on that girl last week. I got her numbah but nevah called.". In Dorchester, Quincy and Braintree no one used scooped.
re: Scoop
Growin up in Canton too....we used scoopin. It all revolved around us Dedham movie theater kids meetin, sneakin in and scoopin
re: Scoop
For us, scooping was picking someone up. What you did with them didn't matter. It was a pretty literal term: you "scooped" them up.But you didn't scoop hoodsies. Get it?
