Our Sunday Glob* is usually delivered prior to six A.M., which is pretty good, since we live at the extreme end of one of the T lines.

For some reason, it didn't show up this morning. Trusting soul that I am, I call 1-888-MY-GLOBE, the "Globe Customer Service Line" at about 7:15. It's an automated call system (to direct my inquiry more efficiently, thinks I).

"With gas prices still above $4 a gallon, the number of people driving on the Massachusetts Turnpike continued to slide last month, according to figures released today by turnpike officials.

More than 800,000 fewer vehicles passed through tollbooths in June compared with the same month last year.

The 4.7 percent decrease, to about 16.4 million tollbooth transactions, comes after a 3.5 percent decline in transactions in May."

Have you guys thought at all about setting up a way for readers to suggest items for UH?

It could be as simple as a common delicious tag whose feed is published on the site as a list of headlines (Bostonist/Gothamist does this: http://bostonist.com/labs/contribute). Or it could be something more robust.

Maybe this already exists and I missed it?

Sorting the Story Queue

That page currently sorts by "last change" or whatever the last column is. But if someone replies to a topic it moves the order around on that page. This makes it difficult to see where in the queue you've gotten to for submitted articles, etc.

Could it be sorted by "creation date" of the topic instead so that as articles are pushed into the queue, they're listed in that order for easier use as a tracker of accepted/unaccepted story posts?

As I've seen several mayor-for-life farces unfold in the area of late, I can't help but wonder: could there be a referendum to limit mayoral terms to 8 or 10 or 12 years? Would it be possible to put such a restriction to a statewide ballot?
