The executive director of a Jamaica Plain non-profit that ran more than a dozen homeless shelters in Boston and Lawrence was sentenced to one year in jail and ordered to do 250 hours of community service after he pleaded guilty to three counts of larceny over $1,200, two counts of making false entries in corporate books and four counts of perjury, the state Attorney General's office reports. LCG Boston reports it is closing its Anna Cole testing site at the Mildred Hailey Apartments after tomorrow. It says the site will be relocated elsewhere, but no new address has yet to be posted. The city has listings of other testing sites and resources.

In the Jamaica Plain Facebook group, a JP resident reports that a woman minding her own business while eating dinner on Vee Vee's patio yesterday got bonked in the shoulder by a sesame bagel that fell from the sky. And it hurt, although not enough for her to seek medical attention. Speculation centers on a gull unable to maintain control of a bagel it had swiped from the trash at the nearby Dunkin' Donuts.

Pennrose, the company currently turning a former middle school in Hyde Park into New England's first LGBTQ-centered senior-citizen apartment building, says it will shortly file detailed plans to turn the former Blessed Sacrament Church on Centre Street in Jamaica Plain into a new moderate-income housing complex with performance and community space. The T announced today it's started running trains again between Brigham Circle and Heath Street after work to replace tracks and to add equipment that, when turned on, should help keep trolleys from crashing into each other. Read more.

No more trains at Green Street

The sign at Green Street says it all.

Kristin MacDougall got off the last train into Forest Hills tonight and reports that the departure board immediately lit up with "No train service" and then The Voice announced over the PA: "This station is closed."

Perhaps appropriately, that last train was one of the 1980s rolling rec rooms with the wood paneling rather than one of the shiny new bing-bing-bing-bing jobs: Read more.
