A 26-year-old from Troy, NY was arrested yesterday on charges she defauded the One Fund out of $480,000 - the amount of a payment she got for a brain injury state officials say she didn't get during the Boston Marathon bombings.

Audrea Gause was picked up in Troy yesterday afternoon on a charge of larceny over $250, the state Attorney General's office reports.

Tsarnaev on cover of Rolling Stone

Oh, wait, Teen Beat went out of business a few years ago, so it's up to Rolling Stone to give us heartthrob Dzhokhar "Jahar" Tsarnaev in all his oh-so-cute tousled loveliness on the cover, rather than simply reusing that oh-so-overused and icky post-boat photo.

Bulger in the morning, Tsarnaev in the afternoon. As Channel 25 shows us, it was a regular circus outside the Moakley Courthouse today, especially with a flying wedge of Konspiracy Kids in for the day to support the living Marathon suspect. Also on hand: cab-reservation service Hailo, which apparently thought tourists and Tsarnaev fans would prove good potential customers.

UPDATE: This just in from Hailo: "The street is on their regular route. They should NOT have stopped at the courthouse & we are as upset as you."

You know, this one. Deadspin posts copies of all the complaints filed with the FCC over both the speech and the FCC commissioner's subsequent affirmation of Big Papi's words. They don't all have addresses attached, but of the ones that did, there were none from Boston (one from Westfield, though).

Branden Mattier, 22, was arrested today when an undercover state trooper gave him a bogus check for $2.2 million for the pain and suffering he allegedly suffered when his aunt's legs were damaged so severely by the Marathon bombings that she would need a double amputation.

The problem, the state Attorney General's office reports, is that the aunt actually died 10 years ago.

One Fund Boston reports checks to Marathon-bombing victims and survivors will begin going out tomorrow.

“No amount of money can replace what has been lost,” Administrator Kenneth Feinberg said in a statement. "It was a solemn responsibility to allocate these finite contributions across tremendous pain and suffering, but it was made lighter by the unprecedented generosity of Bostonians, of Americans, and of people around the world."

Cubby Tees has posted a long apology about its "Chicago Stronger" shirts addressed to all the humorless, self-centered pricks in Boston who failed to see either the humor or the trenchant social commentary the shirts were meant to evoke:

So this woman comes up to Cambridge from Atlanta by way of New York for law school, spends much of her off time developing an active hatred for all of Boston because we're too cold and uncaring and claustrophobic and totally not fun for her - and, yeah, all while she's making absolutely no effort to explore the area beyond a roughly five-block stretch bounded by her apartment, Harvard Law and a couple of bars - and then, after she sees how we reacted in the aftermath of the explosions, realizes we're not so bad after all, but she'll still never fit in here.

Meassage on a boat: Win it for Martin

Noah watched this houseboat glide past Long Wharf yesterday evening. He notes that blue thing by the flags is a slide.

Meanwhile, injured MBTA Officer Richard Donohue will wave the flag at tonight's Bruins game.

Abraira

The Boston Fire Department announced today that Steve Abraira is quitting as the city's top uniformed fire chief on Friday, following an increasingly public dispute with all of his deputies on whether or not he should have shown up at certain large events, such as Boylston Street after the bombings.

Commissioner Rod Fraser has appointed Chief of Operations John Hasson, a 40-year veteran, as acting chief to replace Abraira, who came to Boston from Dallas in 2011.

Alice files this report from the Garden State:

Last night at Princeton University's Reunion celebration, they honored the victims and first responders of the Marathon bombings with a special "Sweet Caroline" segment in the fireworks display. About 20,000 people were there and everyone sang along. At the end of the fireworks, a little smoke cloud in the shape of a heart was briefly visible hovering over us--fantastic!

The Globe reports on Bill Keating's recent trip to Russia.

Meanwhile, the Dig wonders if maybe local police might have caught onto the brothers if they hadn't been too busy following environmental activists, peaceniks and occupiers.

WBUR interviews Mery Daniel, who lost her left leg on April 15, on her release from Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. She talks of the changes she'll have to make in her life, but adds:

I love Boylston and Newbury street. I don't want to be afraid of that street. I want to go back to enjoy walking that street and go shopping.
