This site has video of a Somerville cop who just walks back and forth in a crosswalk, signaling drivers who don't stop for him to a uniformed cop in a nearby cruiser, who then pulls the Massholes over and issues them citations. For some reason, the site thinks trying to keep drivers from plowing into pedestrians who have the right of way is wrong.

A concerned citizen complains about South Street in Roslindale Square by the wallpaper store now that the street has a bicycle lane:

When a car is stopped for a pedestrian at this crosswalk, other motorists will often illegally use part of the bike lane to overtake - I've seen numerous almost-collisions at this location. This is a high pedestrian area. This needs to be redesigned.

So this out of towner makes the mistake of parking on Oakview Terrace in JP last night and makes the further mistake of telling the local to be more careful the next time he parks after he bops into her car with his. And then she comes out later and finds a threatening note on her windshield, inside a bag with a biohazard sticker on it.

Bad parking in West Roxbury

A concerned citizen complains about the parking habits seen on Centre Street in West Roxbury at lunchtime today:

Left car in traffic - in front of a fire hydrant, walked down to post office. 7292 MR Lexus.

So, that would be: Parking in front of a hydrant, parking too far from the curb and obstructing traffic. It's the West Roxbury trifecta!

Massholes with snow on their roofs

GoddessOfCarbs shows us the SUVs of two of our fine drivers who couldn't have been bothered to clear the snow off their vehicles this morning.

Ed. note: Drove the kidlet to Forest Hills this a.m. for the bus to school, noticed that SUV drivers seem totally unaware you can get a long brush for those hard to reach places before all the snow comes flying off the roof and blinds/smacks the driver behind them.

Boston Police report somebody unfamiliar with Southie moved a sawhorse by the curb in the 400 block of W. 4 Street yesterday afternoon and parked his car.

In JP, rapidly turning into Southie on the Pond, the cones came out with maybe a couple inches on the ground.

Around 10:45 p.m. in East Boston, meanwhile, police responded to an A&B call on Princeton Street: A woman was standing in a space to hold it for somebody on their way when a guy not of her acquaintance began pulling into the space. She protested, he finished parking anyway. And then got out and pushed her before ambling away.

Pam reports she was having lunch at Stephanie's on Newbury at Exeter this fine summer afternoon when:

Holy crap, a guy just jumped out of his car to punch a pedestrian who crossed in front of him on Exeter at Newbury. Because the driver didn't want to wait for him to cross. I watched.

Went for his neck, another pedestrian pushed them both to the ground. Cops here now.
