Transit Police report that around 5 a.m., a man from Lowell began yelling racial epithets at commuters and station workers, and that he refused entreaties from officers to shut up or leave, so they arrested him for trespassing.

The MBTA said today it's going to try to buy the 24-acre Widett Circle, which our brief Olympics bid lifted out of obscurity only to return to being the home of low-profile food-processing concerns, to use as a place to store commuter-rail trains between the morning and afternoon rush hours. Yes, the box is hiding just what you'd think, police say.

Transit Police report they are looking for a guy who exposed more of himself than he should have on an outbound Kingston Line train that had just left South Station around 8:45 p.m. on Nov. 19.

MBTA Commuter Rail reported delays of up to 30 minutes on the Worcester Line this morning due to "a rail defect in the Wellesley area."

There's a similar problem on the Newburyport Line. Are the rails not quite cold resistant?

The MBTA reports delays of up to 45 minutes on the Newburyport Line due to signal problems between Ipswich and Rowley and that things will remain like that through at least 4 p.m.

Boston firefighters responded to the Worcester Line train tracks that run along Lansdowne Street in the Fenway tonight on a report of a person hit by a train. Around 9:25 p.m., firefighters found the person's body under the train, stopped roughly near Jillian's at Lansdowne and Ipswich.

Car on tracks at Sullivan Square

A woman whose car somehow flipped onto the tracks that run alongside the Orange Line at Sullivan Square early Saturday walked away largely unscathed, Live Boston reports. The cause of the crash remains under investigation; Live Boston reports another vehicle might have fled the scene.

Keolis announced today that it will be having even more Providence Line and Franklin Line trains stop at Forest Hills both on weekdays and weekends to handle riders who would normally take the Orange Line or who just don't like the idea of taking a shuttle bus, no matter how plush the seats. The 5:35 p.m. train from South Station to Framingham this evening pulled out of Boston Landing and died. And then sat there for almost two hours, with no power and so no AC and increasingly overheated passengers complaining about the lack of any communication from the crew about what the hell was happening. The man drove down the tracks for a distance before coming to a stop nowhere near a crossing.

Firefighters rescuing man after breaking open wall at Back Bay

The Boston Fire Department reports "a man fell between the walls" at the commuter-rail part of Back Bay this afternoon and that companies had to bust open the walls to get him out. The department did not say how the man managed to fall in that exact location.
