A West Roxbury man was arraigned this week on charges he sexually attacked a woman on a 34 bus outbound from Forest Hills and exposed himself to young girls on another 34 bus the next day, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. Read more.

The MBTA says you can ride the Blue Line for free between July 5 and Aug. 31 - as part of efforts to reduce traffic due to the Sumner Tunnel being shut for repairs then. Read more.

An apparent electrical fire on an inbound Red Line train at Central filled the train and then the station with smoke around 9 a.m., as passengers were evacuated, Cambridge firefighters rushed down into the station and the T kept tweeting increasing delays due to what it only called "a mechanical problem." Transit Police report they are looking for a guy they say first rubbed against or grabbed a woman as they were boarding a 34E bus at Forest Hills, then, once the bus was rolling, whipped out his alleged manhood, around 5 p.m. on Thursday. Read more.

The MBTA reports northbound delays on the Orange Line of up to 20 minutes because of " train with a door issue." The train is too young to just be taken out back and shot, so instead will be diverted into the Wellington yard for repairs.

A plan submitted by the MBTA earlier this month to reduce the odds of its workers getting injured or killed while working on subway tracks needs to be redone immediately because it includes fixes not scheduled until next year, the Federal Transit Administration says. Read more.

WBUR updates us on the latest round of MBTA repair shutdowns, which include shutting down the brand-spanking-new Green Line Extension for the first two weekends in June, because it turns out the T started running trains on it even though it wasn't completely done. The work involves various stuff along the tracks, not the still unopened community path in Somerville.

The MBTA reports 25-minute delays on the Braintree branch even after workers managed to dispose of a train "which had its brakes activated," and not in a good way, at North Quincy.

Update: The T says it had to send in another train to push the dead one all the way to Cabot Yard in South Boston.

The MBTA is reporting delays up to 30 minutes on the Red Line as "our crews remove a train that was disabled at Porter Square."

The MBTA does not say if it fixed a recalcitrant door on a Red Line train at Andrew, or just hauled the poor train away, but says service is back to what passes for normal these days.

Update: Yep, it was the East Street bridge.

The MBTA reports Franklin Line train 754 is between 30 and 40 minutes late into Boston because yet another trucker has slammed into a bridge in Dedham. The T didn't say which bridge, but if we were a betting site, we'd put good money on the ol' East Street bridge, which gets hit by truckers enough to be made an honorary Storrow Drive bridge.

The Supreme Judicial Court ruled today that MassDOT went too far in telling the owner of a small parcel between Cypher and B streets that it was just going to build tracks and facilities for testing new Red Line cars on the land with no compensation whatsoever. Read more.
