A Boston-to-Lynn ferry ran aground off Nahant shortly before 8 p.m., according to Steve Deveau, one of the passengers aboard it.

Deveau reports the ferry was the Cetacea, the same ship whose passengers spent a night in the harbor last month when its propeller became entangled in a cable at an LNG offloading area off Nahant.

For the second time in a week, Transit Police report stopping John Bubier at Andrew station for trying to ride the Red Line for free - and then placing him in custody because he has an outstanding warrant, this time for assault and battery, out of Boston Municipal Court.

A man nabbed for alleged fare jumping at Ruggles last year was picked up for the same offense at Forest Hills yesterday afternoon, Transit Police report.

Although piggybacking behind a paying customer normally only means a ticket, in both cases, Juan Garcia was arrested because he had outstanding warrants charging him with assault and battery on a police officer.

Riders from the south and west got to enjoy the scenic vistas of the South Station rail yards this morning when Amtrak's signals failed yet again, and trains were unable to pull into the station. America's Railroad fixed the problem shortly after 9:15 and trains began pulling in.

Transit Police report arresting John Bubier, 60, around 9 a.m. today at Andrew Square after officers say they watched him piggyback through a fare gate behind a paying T rider and then discovered he had failed to register as a Level 3 sex offender.

Transit Police report officers are once again looking for Jeffrey Cooper, a tall, skinny and autistic teen from East Boston who loves riding the subway.

He was last seen yesterday.

Cops with big guns at Airport station in East Boston

Passengers allowed back in as cops got ready to leave. Photo by Mary C. Stevens.

A suspicious package at Airport on the Blue Line around 8:50 a.m. quickly brought the bomb squad and officers with high-powered weapons and dogs to the station.

Passengers were evacuated from the station and train service was halted.

Around 9:06 a.m., the package was declared not suspicious. A couple minutes later, riders were allowed back into the station and service resumed.

A Franklin man was arrested on a charge of operating under the influence of drugs after he allegedly drove his car right into Route 240 bus in Randolph this morning, Transit Police report.

Transit Police, who released the video of the crash, say 13 of the 34 passengers on the bus were taken to local hospitals for treatment of non-life threatening back and neck... Read more

Transit Police are investigating a crash shortly after 10:30 a.m. that sent a man to the hospital.

A T spokesman says:

A man crossed in front of a Route 15 bus near Dudley and Albion Streets. He was transported to Boston Medical center with injuries described as non-life threatening. An investigation is underway.

Patrick Kineavy and Alex Lovejoy of the MBTA recently explored a long-abandoned fallout shelter next to an abandoned trolley tunnel under Tremont Street (the one you see on the right on the inbound platform at Boylston).
