Mike Mennonno urges David Robichaud to get some better advice on waxing/trimming his eyebrows - before it's too late.

So Spatch complains the T's failed new Web site doesn't work in his browser of choice and Mac "Computer Expert" Daniel at the Globe tells him to stop using that browser. Spatch gently replies why that's wrong (well, OK, the word "douchebag" did come up at least once). Now the Linux fanboys at Slashdot are piling on. I'm trying to get through the entire discussion, but it's giving me a headache.

On Blue Mass. Group, Charley on the MTA declares victory in his site's seemingly unending war with WGBH's "Greater Boston" over John Carroll's inability to detect sarcasm - apparently Carroll rolled on his back last night and showed his throat to the bloggers, so Charley gave him an affectionate nip and now all is well in the pack again.

But Dan Kennedy, a panelist on the show (also: a blogger), says Charley misquoted him.

Eeka makes the mistake of reading a Metro Dolt in the Street Q&A, in which three people who don't even live in Boston get to monosyllabically explain what they think of the mayor's plan to move City Hall.

Lisa Williams has the scoop: GateHouse newspapers (the old CNC papers) are beginning to put "creative commons" copyright notices on their content - and to open up their sites to reader content:

... Sharing content, letting non-professionals submit content, and connecting with a global network of open-source tinkerers reveal a picture of a firm that's open to the wide world of the web. ...

That's the word on the street, but heavens, don't tell anybody because it's all supposed to be a secret:

Bruce Allen links to the latest.

The Boston Blogger has the bestest stupidest Matsuzaka post of the day.

Marty Lieberman, meanwhile, says goodbye to Gabe Kapler:

Borderline and family watch a lot of 'GBH, so he wishes they would can the new-age "RealAge" informercials and do something about the music programs they run during fund drives:

... [C]an someone at WGBH please take all of the tapes of that crazy Teutonic violinist Andrew Rieu and launch them into the heart of the sun? ...

Alyssa Boehm notices the local weatherpeople seem edgier of late, as if they haven't gotten any recently. Snow, that is:

... The tension mounts until the first storm comes and they explode into action. Then they become the Storm Tracker team - moving in bright, blue rain slicker formation and braving the blustery wind outside so that you can see how awful it is outside.

They'll need it for all the hate e-mail zinging its way to John Carroll now that the national Democratic blogs have picked up the story of how he and his Beat the Press-ters blew the whole blog-accountability issue the other day (see here, here and here):

I found some wicked classic Randolph High School videos (circa 1985) on Youtube... and I posted a couple of 'em on the Globe's FlipSide blog:

I love the clip of RHS students singing "Do They Know It's Christmas" at the school talent show....love it.

And there are plenty more where that came from...take a look:

How else to explain his unrelentingly bitter outlook on Massachusetts, the one that might make an observer exclaim "So move already!" Latest example: He sees "The Departed" and concludes it's proof the entire state of Massachusetts sucks.

The Globe's City Weekly had a big splashy feature today on Josh Michtom's effort to photograph every last Madonna in a bathtub in Somerville. Missing? A link to the Web site where he's posting all those photos.

Maybe you remember the Monolith-sized 5 that would show up at random New England spots (like on the back of a lobster boat). Or WBZ anchor Sharon King bicycling to work. But perhaps the most wacked-out local promo ever is this Jackson 5/Poltergeist promo for Channel 5 (thanks to Spatch for showing me all the fun stuff you can find by searching YouTube on terms such as WBZ, WCVB and WHDH - the world is truly a richer place for being able to watch Dawn Hayes read the daily numbers in 1996):

The Weekly Dig has the scoop on the latest cuts to hit the paper's A&E section (don't worry: Kerry Purcell got kicked upstairs to online just before the cuts).

One of those laid off, Sean McCarthy, blogs:

At least now I have time to resume this blog.

Yesterday, both the Globe and the Herald reported on the arrest of some alleged mob kingpin. Borderline compares the two stories:

... The Globe reads like an obituary, the Herald like a thriller. Which story do you want to keep reading?
