MBTA brags that D line reconstruction will finish "ahead of schedule"
The MBTA has released a statement announcing that the Green Line (D) construction will be finished "ahead of schedule".
According to the article, the early conclusion of the rehabilitation project will allow service to resume on Saturday September 1. Buried in the fourth paragraph is a short sentence stating that service was to resume on Tuesday, September 4. In other words, the T is three whole days ahead of schedule!
But wait, there's more! The T had previously announced that they would try and minimize bustitution during weekends that the Red Sox were at Fenway. Like they are this coming weekend. In other words, the D line isn't really re-opening early at all!
The next propaganda I expect to hear is how the MBTA never really promised speeds over 40mph between Fenway and Riverside.

In my head...
I'm hearing Scotty from Star Trek saying, "It canna be done in less than 73 days, Cap'n. But I'll do it in 70."
