Why do you think there's an election September 25?
As far as I know, there would only be an election for those districts on September 25 if there were enough candidates to require some of them to be eliminated in a preliminary election. According to all the recent news, unless I've misunderstood it, they don't hold a preliminary election unless there are more than eight candidates for the seat. So it seems to me that these elections should be on November 6, not September 25.
Of course, you'd never know that from that absurdly out-of-date Web site maintained by the City of Boston's Elections Department. See my blog entry for my (angry) thoughts about that.
district or at-large?
There are district seats and there are at-large seats. I thought a preliminary election was always required to narrow the field of candidates if more than two run for a district seat?

The six candidates for the Allston-Brighton District 9 seat on the Boston City Council will be whittled down to two in the preliminary election on Tuesday, September 25th.
