TS, our blogging paramedic, reports (in rather graphic detail) on an overnight stabbing downtown - the third stabbing in the area in less than a week:

... "Is he breathing?" my partner asked. I stared at the man's chest. It rose once, twice, three times. The EMT with the Ambu bag felt for a pulse at the neck. "I don't feel anything," he said.

The man on the stretcher blinked open his eyes. It was an odd situation, having a cardiac arrest victim wake up before he could be resuscitated. He had just enough blood pressure to give him some brain function, but not enough to register a pulse. ...
