Rahhhhhhgerrrrrr
Soxaholix: With apologies to Mr. Louis Armstrong, I feel a song coming on:
I see Yankees blue,
With no fight,
All in a daze,
Turn out the lights,
And I think to myself,
what a wonderful world. ...
Dan Kennedy: Go ahead, George. Be stupid. Fire Joe Torre - please:
... Torre may have lost a couple of feet off his fastball, but having to rely on Alex Rodriguez in clutch situations can make any manager look bad. The fact is that Torre compiled the best second half of his managing career without a single consistently reliable starting pitcher. Wang for Cy Young? Uh, I don't think so. ...
Talonvaki: We're in uncharted territory now:
... We're on our own. We don't have the Yankees to hide behind any more.
O, brave new world, that has such baseball in't.

Uncharted territory? Not really
We've lost to the Indians in the postseason plenty of times before -- 1998, 1995, 1948 (one-game tiebreaker). We did finally beat them in 1999.
