Brookline Police report a similar attack around 9:40 last night on Penniman Road near Chestnut Hill Avenue:

Police responded to a robbery call and were met by a male victim who reported he was robbed by a number of individuals, one of which brandished a black handgun and after chasing him down the street the suspect struck the victim in the side on the head with a glass bottle.

Officers responding to the call stopped a van, in which they found three suspects - two adults and one juvenile - along with a plastic handgun replica, a number of bottles of beer and liquor, marijuana, scales and a large amount of cash.

If they catch those guys I certainly hope the State revokes their license to carry firearms!

It's so hard to identify sarcasm in print

It's hard to recognize sarcasm in print. This sure sounds sarcastic. If so, then what Weebs is saying is that he supports gun possession for violent criminals.

Gun enthusiasts can be perplexing politically. I think many of us have an image of gun rights supporters as being politically conservative, law-abiding, upright citizens. I do. But then we see gun enthusiasts seemingly cheering on muggers and thugs, and/or calling policemen foul names, and we wonder if some in that crowd really want more violence and anarchy in the streets, in order somehow to justify their personal and political choices.

Personally, I think that restricting convicted violent felons from owning guns sounds like a good idea. I'd rather guns be in the hands of law-abiding, upright citizens than those of criminals. What do you think?

Um...

Try another cup of coffee. It looks like your perception sensors haven't come online yet this morning.

My five-year-olds could figure out what he was trying to say there.

Gee, I've had three already

But I guess I'm still not as perceptive as your five-year olds. So would you care to elucidate?

If you honestly can't figure it out on your own...

...I doubt my explaining it to you will help any.

I'm done trying to carry on intelligent conversations around here. Though, your comments on the other epic comment thread were some of the most rational and well-written of the lot.

Thanks. I try.

But I don't try hard enough sometimes, and neither do... most people.

I think he's trying to say

That banning gun access from criminals won't be effective as they'll get them anyway... so we shouldn't even try to bar criminals from gun access? I don't understand this either. I'm not being snarky here, I also, legitimately, don't understand what's trying to be said.

Drug deal gone bad?

That's the theory Brookline Police are going on in the Brookline case, the Tab reports - adding police are looking at whether the trio have anything to do with three armed holdups last week.
