I went to the festival in the daytime. It was lame. First, City Hall Plaza cannot be called welcoming. Second, the last few pumpkin festivals (held on Boston Common) were sponsored by Life is Good, and had a nice "feel" to them. The 2007 festival was sponsored by Market Basket and it showed. While the LIG-sponsored festivals were always very popular, this one didn't seem to be that well attended (which might be due to the poor publicity; I only came across a mention of it by chance. Admittedly, I don't shop at Market Basket, perhaps they did in-store advertising or featured it in their flyers).

I don't know why Life is Good chose not to sponsor this year's festival, but I'd love to know.
