The Roslindale and West Roxbury Transcript reports police are cracking down on drag racers who come from across eastern Massaschusetts to speed down Washington Street - they arrested six alleged drag racers at the Emporium early Sunday:
In addition to the arrests, five Honda Civics were towed from the area following the incident.

I had no idea. I saw "Honda Civic" in that report and couldn't not imagine a Civic tearing up the road. Someone swiftly corrected me and said they could be souped up.

There used to be a low-rider club that would gather every Saturday night at the other end of Washington Street, in the Brooks parking lot. It's amazing what you can do to a Civic.
Old Civics
My mother was pleasantly surprised when she sold her old, broken-down '93 Civic DX. She thought she'd have to give it away, but she got calls right away. She was astonished about how happy some guy was to pay her good money for it, and her car now has a new life.
