Police impersonator in Fenway
UPDATE: Suspect arrested.
Boston Police report several people were robbed on Ipswich Street late last night by a guy who flashed a badge and said he was a police detective:
According to the victims, they were drinking alcohol in public in the area of Ipswich Street when the suspect approached. After identifying himself as a police detective, the suspect told the victims that they could get in trouble for drinking in public. According to the victims, the suspect then asked the victims to hand over their wallets and forms of identification. Once the suspect got their wallets, he proceeded to confiscate all of their cash. The suspect also took possession of the victim’s cell phones. At this point, the suspect ordered one of the victims to walk with him. According to the victim, he and the suspect boarded an MBTA Green Line Train. After a few stops, the suspect and victim exited the train at the Boylston Street Station. Once off the train, the suspect returned the cell phones to the victim and then fled the scene on foot.
The real cops are looking for a white guy in his 30s with short light brown hair and light facial hair in the shape of a 'chinstrap' style beard.
Also yesterday: A Chelesea dude who forgot his coat at a Chinatown restaurant grew so enraged when he returned and workers couldn't find it that he kicked the front door hard enough to crack the glass in it. He then also lost his liberty when police arrested him.
And a Foxborough lass learned that if you walk down Commercial Street in the North End dropping trou and showing off your derriere to passersby, one of them might be less than entranced by your butt and call police, who will then haul your allegedly sorry ass off to the nearest lockup.

Not that it matters, but
Not that it matters, but Ipswich St is in the Fenway.
Yeah, it's the road that runs next to the Mass Pike
.. going east from Fenway Park to Back Bay. Nowhere near the South End.
Ipswich Street is in the Fenway
However the Fenway area is covered by the D-4 station in the South End, which is why "officers from Area D-4 (South End) received a radio call for a robbery in the area of Ipswich Street".
But I didn't read the whole report, so maybe it was said elsewhere that Ipswich Street is in the South End.
This was at Ipswich and Charlesgate
Isn't that like the border between Fenway and Back Bay?
Obviously, I am a very confused person.
Fenway
Not that it matters much, but I'd call that Fenway. Anything on the south side of the Pike isn't Back Bay, especially west of Mass. Ave.
Fenway it is, then
Changed.
Thanks.
I was about to edit my comment to mention Fenway Studios at 30 Ipswich Street.
