Prettiest theater curtains in Boston
I remember when the Coolidge was looking pretty run-down and in crummy, drafty shape -- many a 24-hour Sci-Fi Marathon was spent in the theater from 1994 on up to the last one held at the Coolidge in 2002. It's been so nice to have watched the main auditorium undergo restoration and the end results have been absolutely beautiful. And watching the curtains (once a dingy, dirty mustard yellow but now beautifully restored) opening and closing for a feature is a simple moviegoing pleasure you just don't see anymore.
It's agreed, Spatch.
As a member of the Coolidge Theatre who goes there fairly often, I think that the Coolidge Corner Theatre has been beautifully renovated. The Marquis outside is cool, and the curtain on the main theatre's screen is, indeed beautiful. The chairs are comfortable, too.
It's a far cry from the way it was prior to renovation. I like the cool doorway entrance, too.
Marquis?
There is a French nobleman stationed outside the theater? Is he in period dress, or just casually suave and debonair in a high born sort of way? :-)
Or do you mean "marquee", as in "My 5 year old son read the marquee of the Davis Square theater and now we always joke that it has the cheapest manatee in town".
Oops!!
It's the marqee. Sorry for the misspelling on my part.
No, still wrong.
...it's the MARQUEE, to boot.
