South End fight

The Southender goes into great detail exactly why he can't stand the suburbanites moving into the South End with their precious little yap dogs and their heirloom tomatoes.

John Keith disagrees, saying the South End is more diverse than ever, and that that's good, although, if you ask me, his argument loses something at the end when he concludes the Southender is just "an aging bitter queen." "a bitter man."

Yes, Adam, I agree, the name-calling at the end of my post was conduct unbecoming.

You must have been reading a cached version because late last night I changed it to read "A. Bitterman" instead of "aging bitter queen".

I felt justified calling him a bitter aging queen as I am at least two of those things, myself. But, again, it's probably best to leave those types of comments out of my posts.

Thank you for mentioning it ... to everyone!

Southender here. I think John Keith and I should have an old fashioned Crystal Carrington/Alexis Carrington Colby hair-pulling fight (preferably by a swimming pool) to work this out.

What it all boils down to is that 1) I am always right and 2) I do feel some measure of sympathy for him - he's a South End Realtor and I frequently insult the South End. Don't worry, though, I'm sure there will be more than enough entitled yuppies to still buy luxury condos there.

Are you the same person who keeps on telling us about the times you brought meals to people in the South End? I know I've seen that story before here on the intergoogle. May I recommend you go get someone else's Bible and find that passage that gives advice regarding broadcasting one's own charitable works. Or I can save you the trouble - don't.

Ahhh, the old, "He's a real estate agent, he's only thinking of himself" argument. That didn't take long.

Doesn't fly. It's more about me loving my neighborhood and being defensive about anyone criticizing it, at all.

(I should mention, in my defense, I haven't sold a piece of real estate in the South End for well over a year, so whether or not the South End is a dump or not and whether or not people want to live here is irrelevant to my wallet.)

Three things: 1) I am always right; 2) I empathize with him, he's right about the Uggs' wearers; and, 3) One point of clarification: a couple of the most vocal opponents of turning the free parking spots at the Hurley School into a soccer field were gay - they couldn't be bothered to have to walk an extra block or two. See? All types of people can be annoying.

Oh, and 4) I think your link to his blog is broke, Adam.

My apologies for that - sloppy cutting and pasting again.

Mr. K, although we might not agree on many things, I do agree with you that the gays can be just as annoying, sometimes more annoying, than the straights. Annoyance and entitlement know no gender or sexual preference. Now we agree on that and Uggs. And probably gay guys wearing Uggs, too.
