Someone gets a "C" in spelling.

Dec. 9, 10:30 a.m. Lilli Nye will speak on “Stepping Off the Calf-Path” and on how this church community can be a place that cultivates responsible freedom and supports constructive dissent against the well-worn grooves of consumer society. We will also celebrate new members.

West Roxbury is not the place I'd preach against the consumer society.

Thanks for clearing that up.

But if you only follow half her calf-path advice, would that be a paht path?

In the West Roxbury that I grew up in
(60's and 70's) either would have been a
bit too esoteric to generate a crowd
on Sunday morning.

The Unitarians may do better on this if they
can get a couple of the Patriots cheerleaders
to back up Reverend Nye.

I had never heard of "calf path" before, but a little Googling turns up this poem from (Somerville's own) Sam Walter Foss: The Calf Path

A calf "paht", as spoken by a Bostonian, is simply part of a calf.

There is a sign on Rt. 16 in Mefuh that reads "Emergency Stopping Olny".

Maybe the same person attempted to spell "part" on the sign?

Without wonderful "priority trolls" like yourself, I don't think any of us here could possibly know how to keep our priorities straight, or our conversation up to your exacting quality standards.

Here's to you Priority Troll - because, after all, it's all about you!
