Or maybe: In for a penny, in for a pound - allegedly. The following is a statement from the Suffolk County District Attorney's office:
Murder defendant JOHN TIBBS (DOB 8/9/71) is expected to be arraigned tomorrow morning in the Boston Municipal Court following the discovery of a large quantity of cocaine and heroin on his person when he returned to the Nashua Street Jail following the hung jury in his September murder trial. Tibbs, who is currently serving a 27-year federal prison sentence for another murder, is scheduled to be re-tried next month for the 1995 murder of Tennyson Drakes -- a murder for which another man was wrongly convicted.

What's the issue with the statement?

there's no issue with the statement itself. the guy just likes commiting crimes.
August 1995 Murder
Well...all I can say is this man is getting off free, he murdered one of my closest best friends and now I will never see him again, I can't believe this system and how it works. I believe if this had happened in the year 2000's he would of got life w/out parole, how can this man murder 2 people within a month of eachother, then seriously injure 2 others, thats attempted murder isn't it? how can he do all that and only have to serve 3 years for the murder of my friend, this is not fair, this is not justice, my heart goes out to his family because I can truley feel their pain, I felt it the day Tenny died, we were such good friends that you can't even describe our relationship.
No mother should have to go thru this what his mom is going thru right now. Rest in piece Tenny and always remember I will never ever forget you. You will always remain in my heart.
