Knowing English would be nice

I'd settle for their knowing how to use English words correctly. One story says, "The former New York Mayor gained worldwide recognition after 9/11 but the notoriety has faded." Maybe they really mean Giuliani came to be despised in the wake of 9/11, but I don't think so.
