Amy puts the chain on notice she noticed how they raised prices fairly dramatically one week, then lowered them by a few cents the next week just to put up all these little signs about how Stop & Shop is lowering prices.

And at Hannaford...
Hannaford raised the price of Fancy Feast cat food from 55 cents to 63 cents a can, and put on tags reading "Low prices that stay low!"

I live north of Boston near the NH line. Hannaford opened a new store not far from a Shaw's and Market Basket. Nearly everything carried in common with those stores was higher-priced. I guess they hope to make money with merchandise peculiar to them, but unless they have lower beer prices than surrounding outlets, I'm outta there.
