Breakfast in Norwood, part 2

Following the advice of folks in this discussion, we headed back to Norwood today for breakfast at the Town Square Diner (164 Nahatan St., a block or so east of Washington Street).

It was everything they said it was: Your classic friendly townie diner serving your classic diner breakfast stuff - your basic breakfast comfort food that you only wish you could eat every day but you know you can't because you'd be dead of a coronary by 45.

How good? When we got there, there was a wait. Probably only ten minutes or so, but that's about eight hours in kid terms, so the kidlet was complaining much of the time, "I want FOOD. I WANT food! I. WANT. FOOD!" etc. Once we were finally seated, she ordered the special Patriots Cakes - pancakes with blueberries topped with strawberries and whipped cream (if you don't get the connection, well, you're no Pats fan). "This was worth the wait!" she sighed as she tucked in.

I got a Swiss-cheese omelet. Perfect - soft without being runny. It came with hash browns - small slivers of potato cooked to perfection, as opposed to the home fries Nancy got - larger chunks of potato cooked to perfection.

So if you happen to be anywhere near Norwood Center in the morning, and you're hungry, check it out.

Oh, the waitress gave us three checks. When I asked the kidlet if she had enough to cover hers, she said she didn't have any money. Fortunately, she knows me, so she didn't get worried when I said that was OK, that she'd probably only have to work in the kitchen for an hour or so and we could pick her up.
