Never trust people who say their first name is Heywood

Adam Reilly picks up on a Globe correction involving an alleged Fidelity employee named Heywood James talking about his experience telecommuting on Monday - turns out he doesn't exist. Oh, well, could've been worse.

A reporter from the Globe contacted me (no names, as he may be in trouble enough already for the "James" gaffe) as I had mentioned in my blog about a co-worker telecommuting. I was disappointed to see the story the next day and not see my friend's photo attached, as they did send a photog out to Worcester to take some shots of he and his family. In addition, he ended up sounding somehow fey from the only quote they took - "It's nice not to need to look fresh or tidy."
I asked him about that, as I couldn't imagine him saying that - or, at least, not those exact words. He told me that the reporter who interviewed him was insistent, asking him three or four times if it wasn't a nice thing to not have to look fresh or tidy. Finally, my friend said, with a roll of his eyes, "Yeah, I guess it's nice not to have to look fresh or tidy." They lopped off the "Yeah, I guess..." and ran the rest.
Karma's a bitch, huh?

I think it wasn't James but Jamakesomethinuphere. I understand he was busy taking care of his son Lorem and his daughter Ipsum, who were both home from school (at Mike Barnicle Middle School, natch).
Wonder if he's related to that Director of Customer Care
