Tim Thomas to the All-Star game!

Not that fans of the OTHER local teams would know, but hard working Bruins goaltender Tim Thomas was recently named to the NHL All-Star game. This is a very big deal for a plyer who spent 10 years working through the minors before he made his NHL debut and who still faces serious doubts about his ability to be a number one goalie. Along with Zdeno Chara and Marv Savard, Thomas will represent the Bruins in Atlanta this coming weekend.

With all the hype surrounding mega superstar athletes like Moss, Brady, Garnett and Ramirez, its great to see a real down to earth player, who goes to work each day and puts his best effort no matter what. He is finally getting his due part of the spotlight and I for one couldn't be happier.

Congrats To Thomas

Even though there are getting killed tonight, I have to say I am happy with the Bruins this year. Their defense is better then in years past and Thomas has been strong in net. If Bergeron can come back healthy next year, Kessel continues to improve, and we get another decent scorer the B's could be a top 5 team in the East next year.

As an all around Boston fan, it is nice to see someone in the Boston area write about the Bruins without making a sarcastic joke about the NHL or put a "who" after mentioning the Bruins. Even after tonight's game they look to be a viable playoff team. Plus, 3 all stars on a 21 man roster is not too shabby...
