Sell the names of cities and towns:
... An obvious one is our own home of WATERTOWN. Why not ask Coca-Cola for a couple hundred million for the right to change it to DasaniTown? I'm pretty sure we could get a bidding war going. Do you think Coke will stand idly by while there's the possibility of our burg being called AquaFinaVille? ... (I dread to think what the folks from Preparation H could do with ATHOL, but we need the bucks.) ...

I had wrote about the idea of having Corporate Street Names on my blog a while back (blog.sportspoliticandrevenge.com/...street-names-within-10-years.aspx), but selling the whole town name would probably bring in even more revenue so I say go for it.

Reminds me of my favorite song...
"...wasting away again in AquaFinaVille, searching for my lost shaker of salt..."
Maybe It's Something In The Water In Watertown?
(I left this comment over at Teddy's place, too.)
I guess great minds think alike, huh?
Funny thing - last night, I was re-reading a book by Bill Bryson wherein he suggested pretty much the same thing I did. I didn't remember that at all, but maybe it was stuck in the recesses of my memory somewhere. So, great ideas occur to more than one person sometimes, I guess.
