WBZ posts an audio tribute to the former WHDH morning host, who died this morning (2005 bio).
The Yaz Song.
Growing up, my Mom used to have him on the radio every morning. I thought he was a pretty funny guy, when I was a kid.
I had the pleasure of seeing him perform in a couple of plays, and I also saw him taking part in a re-creation of old radio shows at a college. He had talent and he seemed like a nice fellow.
I was just talking about him (and Dave Maynard) this weekend with my mother-in-law. If memory serves, it was Jess Cain who had a running joke on Frank Perdue and his chickens. And Frank was totally in on it, too.
Correction - Jess was the WHDH morning man - not WBZ
Thanks, and sorry about that.
