What does Godzilla have against East Boston?

A.k.a. Massport. Jimbo reads how Massport wants to add 4,500 spaces for rental cars at Logan:

... According to the article, a Massport representative at the meeting said that the proposed consolidated rental-car facility is "a trend that other major airports are following in terms of providing services that travelers have come to expect." Well, how about the things that local residents have come to expect, like air that is safe to breathe?

Massport is proposing to turn 49 acres of potholed surface parking lots served by an endless stream of rental car shuttles to 8 different rental companies into a garage served by one fleet of buses. The jockeying of these parking shuttles causes massive congestion at the curbs of Terminals B and C during peak hours, including blocking the Silver Line and Airport station shuttle buses. That alone should cut car and bus exhaust emissions to the residents of Jeffries Point.

Shifting long-term airport parking within Logan's parking cap to the same spot means cars will sit there for days without their engines running. My assumption is that this'll let them move the bus pool (where buses would pull in and out frequently) to the current surface long-term parking lot. But, if cutting the garage down to 3 stories and losing the long-term parking would sell the project to the neighborhood, I'd do it.

It's sad that the level of mistrust between Massport and East Boston means that a project that'll cut down on incessant bus trips immediately raises a battle cry.
