Green Acres is the place to be?

Like Eric in the South End, Back Bay's Carpundit finds himself longing for a home with a yard:

... When we moved here, our compromise was that we'd live in the city for her and spend weekends on the Cape for me. So the boys have some of each. But I'm with Eric: there's something about a yard outside the back door. ...

Oh, dudes: Large numbers of Bostonians actually live in houses with backyards and our own driveways and kids playing out in the street and ice-cream guys who slowly drive up and down the neighborhood, up and down, up and down, playing "Turkey in the Straw" or the theme from "The Sting" so many times so loudly that by the time they get to your house you want to kill them.

Well, but that's not really the city...

I'll bet that comment title annoyed some people. Just trying to drive your clicks, Adam.

Seriously, I know there are a few nice places to live in Boston that have yards and stuff, but in Back Bay and Beacon Hill -where you can live near the tall buildings- you need about $8 million cash to buy something with a yard and a driveway. Upside: no ice cream trucks.
