Hungry like the wolf
News that an honest-to-God wolf turned up way out in the Berkshires some place westa Worcester (and was, of course, promptly shot dead), has Jay Fitzgerald slavering over the thought of our local fauna moving up the food chain:
I don't know about you, but I was never satisfied with mere coyotes hunting down our cats, dogs, livestock and even grandpa. It's been obvious for so long: we needed wild and ravenous wolves to make our suburban lives and ecosystem complete. Now we have them -- and it's 'exciting' because wolves are 'revered by many.' ...

Shelburne? Berkshires?
No, no. Not by a long shot.
Shelburne's in the pioneer valley. Franklin County, to be exact, and at least a couple towns over from the county line.
Berkshire County doesn't begin until the foot of Florida Mountain. Head west on Rte 2. When the road turns into steep and twisting mountain pass, congratulations - you've made it to the Berkshires.
