They're here, they're queer, they want a beer

Boston Guerrilla Queer Bar will "take over" a Faneuil Hall bar this Friday. No, of course, they don't announce which one beforehand (you need to sign up for the mailing list to get some e-mail the morning of the event):

The idea is to turn an unsuspecting straight bar into a gay bar for one night. Call it guerrilla bar fare.

Reminds me of that Electric Six song:
Let's start a war!
Let's start a nuclear war!
In the

(if you have no idea what I'm talking about, please disregard.)

not for nothing but we can get married here now, which translates into a certain comfort level with PDA's just about anywhere. Gawd knows the gay bars suck anyway, so just exactly how is this subversive?

Personally, I'd rather people kept their Blackberries at home.

I have to disagree. Even though we have gay marriage I rarely see gay couples holding hands - even int he south end. I still get called faggot ont he street rather often ( a few times a month) and at the geurilla gay bar take over a very large man pushed me and wouldnt let me into the room yelling " no more queers in here" The staff yelled at him but did not kick him out.

Gay marraige does not equal queer liberation my friend.

Provincetown

My kids noticed all the same-sex couples holding hands as we walked around Provincetown and they were outraged! Not because these couples were gay, but because our own gay married friends and neighbors can't feel comfortable holding hands in public in their own municipalities.

If the kids have this much figured out, it's pretty obvious.

Big Deal, I am getting all my married buddies at the Gas
Company and Verizon to go to "Machine" in the Fenway with me on Friday Night and dance up a storm.

Wait a minute...half those married guys would never go home.

Cancel that.
