Tree easter
The evening news said a limo driver from a Roxbury funeral home had a car full of elderly siblings headed toward their brother's interment. The driver veered off HP Ave. headed south and took out a tree and a street sign.
The siblings had minor injuries and a broken bone or two. they ended up in three area hospitals and missed the graveside rites.
The witnesses in following cars couldn't figure out what was up and why he suddenly went off a clear road. The report quoted the driver as saying he didn't know how it happened. He was not injured.
The tree toppled on the roof of the limo.
I passed by a couple of hours later and it had some amusing MSM twists. There were two TV vans next to what was left of the severed tree and what appeared to be media SUVs across the street.
The tree pieces were on the sidewalk, but there wasn't much to see. I wondered why the TV stations were even there and what they'd do with the report. Both channels 5 and 7 had the same stupid 6 p.m. coverage. Their on-the-scene report was someone standing there next to where the tree had been. One reporter even said that they had chipped the tree. It looked like a trunk, sort of a Monty Python former tree.
