An unexpected outbreak of common sense.
In 2006, 43.9 percent of the 1,889,810 total arrests for drug abuse violations were for marijuana -- a total of 829,627. Of those, 738,916 people were arrested for marijuana possession alone.
In strict medical terms marijuana is far safer than many foods we commonly consume. For example, eating 10 raw potatoes can result in toxic response. By comparison, it is physically impossible to eat enough cannabis to induce death.

This morning, I caught a Channel 7 news teaser about Frank's proposal to "legalize marijuana". Talk about media spin. Decriminalizing less than one ounce does not equal legalization. This is why I rarely watch that news.....
How many hung over people
... watched that segment and made judgemental comments about "that's nuts, drugs are bad"?
Given that pot is objectively less dangerous than alcohol and cigarettes, the state should go one better and legalize and tax the hell out of it like they do with cigarettes and alcohol. Bring it under control.
