Three-car rush-hour smashup narrowly averted on Rte. 128 today by two drivers far more alert than the loser who slammed on her brakes in the fast lane while texting.

If you believe Liberty Mutual, and I do, distraction is the number one cause of car accidents. Car accidents cause injury, death and damage to property. So why then is it legal to chat away on one's cell phone or text message when driving?
