Among other things, Michael Burstein is a science-fiction writer. He writes he's holding a raffle for people who pre-order a hardback copy of his latest book - Two winners will have characters in two new stories he'll be writing.
Meanwhile, NECN is holding a weather word competition. The best use of the word "befog" wins "a great NECN prize pack." And you know how spiffy your mother's car would look with a "My kid is an NECN weather-word winner!" sticker (no, I have no idea what's in the prize pack).

I'd like to get my hands on the person who decided that "precip" is a word.

I do believe Matt Noyes of NECN has this contest on a weekly basis! He's all about getting kids (and everyone really) interested in meteorology.
