Pam was surprised to find cartons of Bread & Circus eggs at her local Whole Food Market this past weekend.

Whole Foods still uses the Bread & Circus name for some things. The cookies at the symphony Whole Foods still say that on them.

And I think there was a Bread & Circus out in Hadley as late as 2003.

Eggs? The yolk's on you!

Mayflower Poultry (Live Poultry Fresh Killed!)
in East Cambridge has HUGE jumbo eggs, at great
prices. And they're across the street from the
New Deal fish store, so it's a two-fer.

So Pam was surprised to find cartons of Bread & Circus eggs at Whole Foods, thought its "been ages since there was a Bread and Circus around," and still bought and ate them?

Isn't that a bit like, "Hmm… looks like shit… smells like shit… tastes like shit… boy am I glad I didn't step in that!"?

Not quite

I obviously didn't think they were 5-year-old eggs, but I was surprised to see that they were still using the cartons. The eggs are fresh. I just happen to use a fair bit of sarcasm in my writing.
