If somebody ever made a model-train layout of the Mattapan Line, one of the stops would look just like this.

Modeling the T
Cool! In point of fact I am making a model-railroad layout based loosely on the MBTA, including the Mattapan line. It's inspired by the T as of approximately September, 1969 (which was when I started teaching), and it's a long way from being finished. My layout is much closer to what model railroaders call "freelanced" than it is to a strict model of the prototype, but I'm still excited to see a link to this image in UH. Maybe I'll post some pictures in my blog.
Larry Davidson
Hooray for Larry
Larry, you are my childhood hero! When I was about 12, after getting my first (HO-scale) model railroad set, I decided I wanted to make a working model of the Manhattan subway system. I started reading every book about model railroads ever published.
After learning a little more, I realized it'd have to be N scale.
After learning a little more, I realized I'd have to grow up and buy a mansion first.
If I'd grown up in Boston instead of New York, who knows?
