Maybe taking the rivalry just a bit too far

Hitting close to home

By Gary McGath | Mon, 05/05/2008 - 3:14pm

That one hits way too close to home for me. I very often park in that lot or bike by it on weekends. How can anyone kill people over preference in baseball teams? That really has my nerves on edge right now.

The wording is strange. The article says a couple of paragraphs down that she ran them over in the City Hall parking lot. To be sure, that's "outside a bar," in fact outside all bars, but it's not immediately next to a bar. The closest one is half a block away on the other side of the street.

WMUR reports :

Prosecutors said words were exchanged in a parking lot behind Nashua City Hall on Friday between Hernandez and a group of people that included Beaudoin. Prosecutors said a comment was made about a Yankees sticker on Hernandez's car, and she then drove across a dirt parking lot and directly at the group, striking Beaudoin.

The Union-Leader reports she thought the people in the group would be smart enough to get out of her way.

Which parking lot

The City Hall parking lot is paved. I saw a reference to the Maynard and Lesieur (a tire shop) parking lot in one article; I think that one's dirt, and you can get between the two by driving across Elm Street. Maybe she sped from one lot to the other.
