OK, so which one of you is going to try to set a record for most iced coffees consumed in one day?

Jason reminds us that today is Free Iced Coffee Day at your local Dunkin' Donuts, all 63 gazillion of them:

... Usually I don't hit up these free events (free cone day, free burrito day) because it just seems like too much of a hassle to receive a free item of nominal value. I suppose part of the charm is community - waiting with others also seeking free stuff. But the lines usually offset the value, and I can't get myself to wait thirty minutes for a scoop of ice cream.

But this is different. There are Dunkin Donuts everywhere. I can't imagine that all of them will have long lines for the full twelve hours of the promotion. ...

Shorter line than normal?

By Matt (not verified) | Thu, 05/15/2008 - 9:29am

I just stopped by a Dunkin Donuts to pick up a bagel (I dont drink Ice Coffee, just a preference) and noticed the line was shorter than normal which was odd.

The one thing I noticed tho was this impatient guy in line behind me who seemed annoyed that I wasnt pushed right up against the person ordering at the counter (I like to give the person ordering some space!) and then after I ordered he was right behind me, I couldnt even get out of the grove without pushing past him. As I walked away I saw he was there picking up his free Ice Coffee, figures.

Shorter Line

The free iced coffees don't start until 10, so maybe people are holding off until then?

It is also free southwest

It is also free southwest chicken sandwich @ Mcdonalds today.

That could only mean ...

That it is Free Lunch Day at Downtown Crossing, North Station, etc.

Theres a problem tho

To get the sandwich you need to order a drink, medium or larger of course.

So now you have a big cup of soda from McDonalds, AND an Iced Coffee from dunks. Too much caffein and too much sugar!

It's days like today that I know there is a God and he is good. And yes, I may just be addicted to Dunkin Donuts Iced Coffee. And yes, I realize some people don't like there coffee, luckily, I don't know those people... Kidding

I don't like their hot coffee

By SwirlyGrrl | Thu, 05/15/2008 - 10:50am

But I love their iced coffee. It doesn't have that "somebody dropped pipe tobacco in it" flavor that the hot coffee does.

See you in line or, since this is Boston, en mobbe.

I spoil myself

By Arborway | Thu, 05/15/2008 - 1:42pm

I usually make my own with Starbucks' Café Estima or better yet, Organic Serena. Best iced coffee I've tasted in a long time. The flavor of DD's or even the 'bucks' own in-house iced coffee blend is kinda crap in comparison.

Which is not to say I'm going to skip this opportunity. :)

ONE PROBLEM!!!!!

Heh. That's why I stick to decaf. I'm just fine. I'm on my 4th free cup. Fine, I say.
