It's Here

The media were able to tour the new Apple Store on Boylston Street yesterday. Dan Moren with MacUser has some interesting thoughts on what's going to happen to the hollow glass column running down the center of the spiral staircase.

The public grand opening is at 6 PM today. 2,500 limited edition T-shirts are being given away.

My buddy and I are gonna try

My buddy and I are gonna try and get down there after work. Is it pretty close to the pru garage?

Hopefully you went already

I left there a bit after 7 PM and the line was about 8 people wide and a block long still.

I really don't get the need to walk around the store the minute it opened. Other than the free shirt (which was a green background with the "Opening Day 051508" logo that used to be on the Green Monstah-esque boarding), I didn't see much going on.

There were a few Red Sox players. Jon Lester bought an iMac, Coco Crisp was there, and I heard Varitek was still inside when I arrived at 6:30 PM.

I'm a fan of Macs and I think Apple is a good company, but I guess I'm not the uber-fanboy that felt the need to actually set foot inside the store just to say I was there or something.

You'd think they were giving away free burritos
