Weirdest RSS problem ever

Not sure of the hows or whys, but it seems all the RSS feeds for my fave local blogs hosted on WordPress.com have been replaced with mutant self-congratulatory RSS feeds leading to the same blog posts about WordPress.com itself. Gah! I get my feeds via Newsgator, so I'm not sure if the problem is with them or WordPress. Anybody else who doesn't use Newsgator notice this?

Like this one about some new admin toolbar and this one about avatars. Very strange. The author is Matt; looks like some posts from WordPress's own blog got injected into the feeds of folks whose sites are there.

WordPress issued permanent redirects

By Nick Harris (not verified) | Fri, 05/16/2008 - 8:34pm

At somepoint this morning, all the xmlUrl's for WordPress feeds were returning permenant redirects to the WordPress.com blog. When we (NewsGator) see a permenant redirect, our system updates to the new xmlUrl. The result this morning was that the WordPress feeds all started returning the same content.

It was resolved on both ends (their servers started returning real content again and our system was rolled back to the orginial xmlUrls) this afternoon. If you see any other issues, please report them in the NewsGator forums.

Adam: I use NewsFire, and Seth Gitell's blog is coming in just fine.
