Hey, Globe...

Feel free to call or write.

I hang my head in shame

The bit they quoted is a 2 A.M. grammatical disaster area. :-(

The interesting part

Did they even attempt to contact you?

nope

nor did they name me, or link to the story...and they missed the important part- that BPD uses it in the dead of the night on empty streets, and the noise doesn't sound anything like a police siren. The "WHOOOOOOOG!" does sound like some kind of godzilla mating call (or bad cold.)

I think it's going to confuse and frighten people more than anything else, or they'll think it something wrong with their car...there are also a lot of very dubious claims (for example, that it is more directional) that Federal Signal trotted out to sell what amounts to two speakers and a cheap amp, and charge a small fortune for it.

I think the lack of attribution has more to do with my picking on them routinely :-) A "thanks for the tip, we're gonna do a story on it soon" note would have helped my image of them, though!

That's Okay

You saved them the trouble of mutilating it themselves!
