Vintage vantage
By adamg - Fri, 05/23/2008 - 9:26am.
ParkwayBoston.com reports the old Vintage has been sold to another restaurant group (which probably makes sense, although it would have been more poetic if somebody like Vonage had bought it). No word on the actual buyers or type of eatery yet.
Also no word on the price. The property is currently assessed at $370,464 (with George Fontaine still listed as owner!), although the purchase price presumably also included a premium for the value of the old joint's liquor license.

Maybe they can bring back
Maybe they can bring back the waving chicken!
Yes, Make it a low-key yummy fried chicken place again...
.....who needs a fancy-schmancy place in that location?
Did somebody summon the Waving Chicken?
What?
No midi file playing the chicken dance?

So many interesting little icons of the Boston area have just been lost once torn down or otherwise eliminated. I really, truly, appreciate that you've saved one of the sillier (and, for me, nostalgic) ones.
